Supporting Local Community Services
October 2023

In October, the 5 Rotary Clubs of Saskatoon joined together to make a donation of $4,000 to the Saskatoon Food Bank.  Rotary has been a long time supporter of this very valuable community service.

From a Flashlight to a Fellowship

Ever since Maureen Torr was holding a flashlight to assist her mother, Joy Kagira, as a midwife in Uganda, she has been dedicated to helping children.  After moving to Saskatoon in 2004, she became a member of our Rotary Club of Saskatoon in 2012 and officially founded Joy’s Centre, which just last year completed its $80,000 Global Grant!

Rotary Responds!

For over 100 years, Rotary has been working to take care of our communities. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.

Rotary unites people of action from all continents and cultures to deliver real, long-term solutions to our communities' most persistent problems, finding new, effective ways to enhance health, stability, and prosperity across the globe.
